Location: Marrakech, Morocco
Katakali is an eclectic lifestyle store at the Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech. It retails books and objects hand picked by hotel owner/architect Priti Paul from countries in the East and beyond. Inspired by the epic stories of Moroccan traveler Ibn Batuta, the brand identity centers around the mystical tales of an explorer, and is exotic and lush. Beautiful illustrated icons – almond-shaped eyes, elephants, camels, peacocks, parrots and jugglers adorn an abundant magical tree. This forms the central motif of the Katakali Identity.
